Almost a month without a post in the Diary! Don't worry I have not been abducted by aliens, but sadly, nor can I offer the excuse that I have been working on a painting. The sad truth is a combination of factors, much of which was out of my control. This is what happened:
Firstly the death of Lisa put things behind. Secondly the weight of hens workshops was particularly large, and, thirdly, the last term of school was particularly busy.
Fourthly there was a series of calamities, each of which took time to fix. The hot water heater died, and then more catastrophically I had a hard drive failure on my server in the USA. It took two days without sleep to work through that with the technicians while we restored all my static web sites (now you know why tonyjohansen.com and paintmaking.com were not available for two whole days).
But in the end the biggest factor has been plain old fashioned exhaustion. Too many classes, and too many nights trying to get by on four hours (or less) sleep. It catches up with you, and things are fine so long as everything is proceeding normally, but soon as any one of the unusual events happens as outlined above, then you get into a hole that seems impossible to get out of. I know I like to have the appearance of the super artist able to live on hope and little else for long periods, in fact this last month has made me feel very fragile indeed. I do not like my mask to slip, but this last month it didn't just slip, it fell off entirely.
I did manage to keep the posts on my Gatherr blog up to date, but the Diary has suffered. My apologies to regular readers for that.
I still have lots of diary entries to catch up on, but for the next couple of weeks, as I catch up, they will not be well matched with their actual dates and they will be out of real sequence, again apologies for that.
Now lets get to catching up.
